I'm a fan of gold in the right situation, but I'd go with chrome or nickel to go with the frets and the light fretboard inlays.

I would go with chrome, cuz gold is kinda hit or miss to me, and chrome you cant really go wrong with.

BUt remember, SRV's number one, the ultimate relic had a gold bridge!

To me, gold only looks good on white guitars. And black just looks.....tacky. Cheap. I'd go with chrome.

I voted for chrome but really, I wouldn't go with ANY of the above. I think you should put nickel hardware on it.

+1!

I'd go with gold. Always thought bursts were kinda fancy, and should have gold...and imperial style tuners are impressive. And it wears nicely, Chrome stays too shiney too long and black seems like it belongs on a 17 year old's pointy guitar

The original poll is going on 4 years old. I wonder what jrose finally decided.

Maybe it's time for a refinish. Cool

I remember this one from way back. I was kinda bummed that he put a burst on it in the first place, since it was a real nice looking black limba/korina body. I vote: Strip it, and have another poll! Wink

I did a darker burst that is very similar to that one. It's on a Tele that already had a black Tonepros Tom bridge and tailpiece. I added chrome HB sized P90's with black rings and black speed knobs, chrome tuners. I was concerned how it would look, but I love it. Just enough flash to set off the dark burst without distracting from it. I'll try and post a pic tonight.
