Wondering if anybody can give me an idea on how to do shapes. The project is a black body with a whole bunch of white stars. Stencil? Masked and sprayed. A nice mask sheet with stars cut in it would be nice but, where would I find something like that?

Well, with this stuff you'd need to cut your own stars, but you could place and orient them however you needed/wamted:

You might also want to look at their stencil cutting tool linked on that page.

Also,
Here's a link to the goggle search that brought it up. Lots of options!

I used to cut stencils by hand, but, went with a stencil cutter a couple years back and it's great. https://www.silhouetteamerica.com/shop/machines/cameo

Go to your local sign shop and price out a vinyl stencil overlay. The stars can be placed where you want them. Place the stencil on the body, remove the cut stars from stencil, spray the cutouts, remove stencil and clear coat. It might help if you have the body with you when you go. With this process you will have clean crisp lines

Works great for me in doing graphics for customers. Also nice that I have friend who has sign shop with a vinyl plotter cutter.

I bought a package of star stickers at walmart and placed them where I wanted them using double sided tape. Then sprayed a layer of clear so the lines would be sharp. Then sprayed the color coat after that. Bag of stars cost less than 5$
