I'm in the process of planning a walnut guitar (body and neck), and I am going to seriously weight relief the body. I'm looking for recommendations on what may be a good wood I could use for a tight grained, one piece, cap for the top. It may not need to be super super light because of the weight relief, and it doesn't have to be pretty, since it will be a gold top, so a grain pattern isn't a factor. I would prefer it to be one piece though.

Any ideas on a great wood that would work?

Thanks in advance!
