New Acoustic Guitar Day. Or so I hope. Supposed to be delivered today, and the UPS shipping still doesn't show "out for delivery." It's been sitting in the depot 5 miles from house since Friday at 6AM.

That's NIIIIIIICE!!!

I can see why you're anxious.

I live on an island, and UPS drops shipments at the ferry boat (when its running), they're loaded into a box truck (unlocked of course) and brought over to sit in the parking lot on this side.

You may or may not get a call, depending on who is working that day.

Consequently you need to be aware of when things get delivered.

Other times UPS will deliver to the airport on the mainland. When that happens it comes over and sits in the unsecured building.

I once was waiting on a VW bus replacement muffler (ordered from Auburn Hills MI, pretty close by).

After waiting for a long time, I finally called them. They said "We delivered it several days ago. Signed by so and so."

By the last name I knew it was the little airline that flies the mail and passengers to and from.

Went down and looked in the little building. There it was, shoved into a corner.

Could very easily walked off on me. And if I were dishonest, I could take delivery then say I never got it. I never signed for it, the person who signed for it didn't confirm that I was taking possession.

The guitar arrived around 5PM on Tuesday night. I left work early & found the box leaning against the house, with "EASTMAN GUITARS" proudly displayed for all to see. Incoming rain was the real reason I left early, to make sure it didn't float away.

It would have been nice if the driver had laid the box its side, making it a little more conspicuous.

The box itself was beat up pretty good, including a fist-sized tear down by the lower bout. I had somewhere to be, so I moved the box to the garage & left. The next 90 minutes left me anxious to get home & check the guitar for damage.

Finally around 8:30 I was able to unbox this beauty:

A little FQC (Feline Quality Control)
