Got a new guitar today from Goodwill. $244 with shipping with a hard shell case. I can not find a reference to it anywhere on the internet and if you look at the label the serial # line is blank. The decorative wood around the upper bouts are not overlays but inlays. The setup is perfect with no fret wear or evident pick scratches. The top is bookmarked mahogany and the neck is a three piece with a mahogany stripe. It looks not shop worn but new. So what is a 777 Three Seven? Here is the link; https://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=39482359

Looks like an Ovation Applause to me.

It's an Ovation clone, that much is obvious. There's a Korean company with the same name and a very similar logo, whose specialty seems to be nail clippers.

My best guess is a clone, possibly not originally made for sale in the US. My experience with the lower hall of the NAMM show is that there's a lot of overseas companies that play fast and loose with trademarked stuff.

Hey, if it plays well and sounds good, that's all that matters!

It has the shallow bowl so it is not all that great for what I do (acoustic stuff). It appears to have nines on it. I need to put some 12s on before I play it in anger. I can't find any reference to a 777 Three Seven guitar anywhere so it may be a one off made for NAMM and yes, definitely a lawsuit candidate. But I like it....

Looks like a Korean Ovation AX clone, or thereabouts. Once any company outsources to Korea or China, it is only a matter of time before clones are either rolling out of the same factory or one just down the street.

I do have a nice Martin but the Takamine F series are very nice. I have a mahogany top D-18 copy.

I'd say cheap knock off. The wood inlay around the holes looks pretty rough compared to what a real Ovation has.

Even the name 777 Three Seven screams Asian attempt at European branding.

What does the word that ends with UNG start with? Sung Gil Music Product reinforces that.

Never really cared for Ovation as they can't be played sitting down. Plus I heard that they had problems when they first came out with the wood tops delaminating from the synthetic bowl (wood expands and contracts, synthetic doesn't).
