I recently purchased a used 's Fender Road Worn strat and want to relic it a little more, the wear thats on it looks contrived and not very good and want to add a little more wear in the areas where it occurs naturally. the body has a nitro finish. My question is when I start to add my areas of wear do I need to coat it with tru-oil or what would I use in order to protect it after I am done? Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you want natural looking wear don't "protect" it with anything.
