So I figured out the ferrule holes in the Rosser/Fano build I did are drilled for bass ferrules- 9.5-ish mm.

Will guitar strings pull through the bass ferrule string holes? Or should I try and glue in a set of guitar ferrules?

Or just run it as a top loader forever?

Any reason you can't plug with dowels and redrill?

Actually, I hadn't thought of doing that.

Since the guitar is finished, I would be worried about trying that and messing it up/matching the finish, etc.

Use flush-fit ferrules. They fit a 3/8" hole and don't have the lip at the top.
