I'm restoring a 1971 Gibson SG. Bought new pickup covers after watching several videos of swapping covers that were attached by solder joints. After flipping pickups over, there are no visible solder joints. Entire underside of pickup seems to be filled with some type of hard black plastic. Is there a way to remove cover on these pickups or am I stuck with old scratched one's?

Yeah, no.

That epoxy stuff is a bear. If you don't like the pickups it would be easier to just get what you like and sell the old ones.

YMMV. Cool

Are those gold or nickel pickups? Ive been looking for some gold ones for my '76 SG custom. One of the three died and I replaced it with an old T Top, but would love to get the epoxy one its supposed to have.
