Man thats nice!!!

I voted for a burst but I think a narrow band a little darker than the rest just so there is a hit of darkness but still see the grain. If it can't be a darker transparant then I'd leave it like it is.

Great job. Can't wait to see it done.

Thanks for the feedback and votes. It is rather disappointing to have 61 views and only 5 votes. It's not that hard to click on a radio button is it? Wink Any more opinions before this evening would be appreciated. At that point I'm going one way or the other and not looking back. Very Happy

I voted for no burst. If you do it, I definitely think just a little bit at the edges is appropriate, definitely not a wider band like most Fenders would get.

Mr. Murphy may be in Budapest at this moment but believe me, He'll jump on the next plane if you decide to do anything to that finish.

he's making a list as we speak - it looks something like this

1. spray nozzle spit up
2. a crazy gnat
3. dust speck floats in undetected
4. meet Mr. Blush
5. etc.

77% say no burst... and I kind of agree. That means I need to work the edges a little bit. I will own a spindle sander before I build my next one (Shhhh.... my wife is coming).

Thanks for all of your input!

I'm logged in, but there doesn't seem to be a way to vote.

I say don't bother with the burst unless it's going to be faint ("fade" as Tom Anderson calls it instead of "burst") and also not too wide. For simplicity, it looks great as is.

Yeah, thanks for trying... I made it a two-day-only poll since I'm in the middle of finishing and didn't want to drag it out any longer than needed. Smile

I love 'Burst's but would you want a sunburst on Rolls Royce?
It's great just the way it is.

My vote: Build another and Burst it! You wife won't be able to tell the difference anyway!!
