Hi there.

I've got a Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar and I want to refinish the body and match the headstock with nitrocellulose. The body is in decent shape. No real dings but there are a few areas where the paint has been scratched off. The neck lacquer is in pretty good shape as well.

I've never refinished a guitar so what advice would you give?

Is there an easy method for stripping the lacquer?

Should I leave the poly sealer in tact or is there a good benefit to stripping everything?

What nitro primers would work well with the factory sealer?

Pretty sure Im going to need to fill some chips that are close to bare wood or depressions. What would the experienced people suggest? Keep in mind I want to do a matching headstock. Should I order sand and sealer or reranch primer?
