I don't know how to judge the many mic cables on the market just not sure what type of wire they are using or quality etc. I just went ahead and bought a spool of cable and Neutrik XLRs and spent a morning making my own. I got the Belden 8412 cable, just excellent stuff but not cheap, perhaps the only real rubber coated cable still around. I ended up making several 30' to 35' cables and not sure what something like that would be on the market but I got about $45 to $50 plus my time into each one. In spite of all the improvements over the years there is no option for soldering XLRs, a job I just love, but once it's done man what solid cables. I also spent the day marking my many cables etc. with gaffers tape so I know they are mine. Amazing how you do a show and a bunch of your cables and even mics get "claimed" by someone else and disappear....hey man, that's MINE! Yeah, right....

Cool, Belden cable, quality stuff...

I thought of buying a spool. I bought an dBx electronic crossover for cheap. Why? because its outputs and inputs are TRS phones not XLRs! So I bought some flimsy Parts Express Talent brand. I don't know how long they're gong to last. The pair of cables output from the mixer ends are TRS phone to XLR. These I plan to replace. The ones in the 19 rack are fine.

Opps, I'm rambling ... Laughing
