Delicate Sound of Thunder

Fantastic live performance, and I've seen virtually every tour since '71.

I really like The Final Cut.

Although thinking about it, DSotM probably beats it...

Thats a tough one...I love WYWH, The Wall and the Division Bell for all different reasons...dont know about the Final cut, that was a Walters solo effort!! Smile

Animals, definitely. There are way too many memories from my checkered past associated with that album.

A very close second is the Final Cut. In my senior year of high school, our history teacher had a project where we could bring in an album and play a song that dealt with war. I brought in The Final Cut and played The Gunners Dream. I made sure to put the needle on during the last verse of The Hero's Return so the tie in would be there. The history teacher (Mrs. Cohen) was pleasantly shocked. I'm sure she was expecting something like Iron Maiden's The Trooper. She asked for the album cover and was readin all the lyrics and we must've talked about the album for a good 20 minutes. The next day she told me she went out and bought it.

And even though it's not technically Pink Floyd, Roger Waters The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking is absolute GENIUS.

No way to choose a favorite. My PF tastes change on a very regular basis. I've been on a Wall kick lately. Before that I was into the transitional stuff between Barrett and DSOTM. I could probably go for some Division Bell pretty soon as well. Come to think of it, I still need to pick up the new Gilmour Live DVD.

Meddle is my favorite...always has been. Another dark horse candidate should be David Gilmour's first solo album from '78. I prefer listening to that over Dark Side, The Wall and several other Floyd albums. I seem to enjoy Gilmour's playing more and more as I get older. His tone and his phrasing are always damn near perfect.

My favorite changes over time. Currently its Wish You Were Here. I'd love to figure out what Gilmour did to get that guitar tone at the beginning of Shine On You Crazy Diamond. The attack on those notes is so liquid, like raindrops on a pond. And the keyboards - Wow - RIP Rick.

I chose Dark Side because that album blew me and my friends away when it came out.

But then it was played to death at parties and on the radio.

Animals is a close second for me. Cool

I love WYWH, with Animals a close second. Umma Gumma (spelling's off I know) was great too. I'm glad to see not everyone jumped on the Dark Side bandwagon.

I went with Momentary Lapse of Reason. It just reminds me of a different time. Wish you were here is my favorite Floyd song and one of the first songs I ever learned to play.
