Quite frankly I never understood asking a forum what color to paint your guitar.
I mean, you are the one that has to live with the color.
May I suggest doing a little research on what colors were appropriate for certain years of production?
If you are trying for a certain look based on an actual vintage guitar, there were years that a certain color was introduced into the Fender catalog.
Here is an excellent resource you should bookmark.
http://www.provide.net/~cfh/fenderc.html
It shows color charts and what years they were used.
Not trying to be a jerk here, just trying to help you choose your own color.

Man I hate to tell you what you probably already know, 1960 Strats in Sonic Blue ARE RARE (Fender put out an assembly line butt load of Jags in SB).
If I was a "gotta have a relic Strat" type, I'd do a lightweight alder 60's body in Sonic Blue with a Rosewood board & real clay inlays; just like the picture in the post above.

If I were doing one right now, it would be between Olympic or Fiesta.

Where's '61 body you scored at the yardsale?
