Posting this because I often get better solutions for stuff like this here than anywhere else. ( Love this forum).

Running Cubase on Windows 7. I heard a "thump" in the monitors like something had powered down but nothing did. Cubase had stopped working , tried rebooting but it wouldn't see the USB dongle, replugged that and all has been fine since. Found the error below, I'm curious to know if a one time event like a brown out can cause that or whether it always points to bigger things like registry issues . I have the system on a very old APC UPS which I suspect may have had something to do with this.

One possibility is a .NET error. That error code is pretty common. Download and run the .NET repair tool. If that isn't it, it won't hurt anything to run it. Could also be virus/malware related.

Thanks , will do. The PC is my main studio rig, never been on line and no cracked software so I doubt it'd be malware .

.NET corruption can happen even without being on the net. Installations, updates and crashes can all cause problems. If that doesnt work, let me know if you see anything else.
