Hello everyone,
I am new in this forum it is my first post., my name is mrpropre (mrclean in english), nice to read this precious forum which sadly doesn't not have any equivalent like in france.

I have one question, how could I do to make horizontal checking cracks on a strat body? Nash guitars, Mill guitars and few others manage to get horizontal cracks, but not me. I know how to obtain checking with temperature alteration (freeze aerosole or freezer and heat gun) but checking are random directions, I don't know how to get them horizontal or vertical.

If someone has any information about my question, I would be grateful.

Welcome to the site.

I haven't personally done this but I know others who have. A single-edge razor blade is used to carefully score the surface of the body to the orientation and density of the cracks you are looking to achieve. It is a long process that requires patience to be done correctly. Rubbing graphite or other material over the body enhances the look of the cracking.
