wow, that looks pretty cool. sorry if my description was kinda weird, but it seems like you got it. a few notes, though; i do plan on having the stem of the rose, too so the actual flower will have to be a bit smaller, and the guitar i'm going to be refinishing has the input jack on the side of the body, which gives more room for the stem. they both look so good, i still can't decide wether i want the red or the blue. THANK YOU very much for the help.

It was no problem mocking them up. Both colors do look cool, don't they?

Instead of deciding between them, how about a "His and Hers" pair of guitars...one with a red rose and one with a blue?! Or maybe intertwine the stems of two roses, one with the red bloom and one with the blue? (Just thinking out loud.)

Keep us posted (with pictures, of course)!

i think i'd like one rose only. maybe i can put another rose on the back of the guitar, though. i got it! the stem can start on the neck, and the flower can blosom on the back of the headstock! unfortunately i won't be starting this project untill spring. painting outdoors in below freezing weather just doesn't seem like a good idea to me, but when i do get around to it, there will be pics.
