Black, Chrome or Gold Hardware???

I'm going to crash the party and suggest Nickel. As the guitar ages I think nickel ripens right along with the finish. Gold does too, but, all it takes is a long sweaty jam for it to get spotty.

Black would be striking. Unfortunately, as has already been stated, black wears poorly. My first choice would be chrome (or possibly nickel). Gold is a bit glitzy for my tastes, although it can look good on a few guitars. Also, I have never been impressed with how gold wears either.
