this is the one i like most but im not sure if the pickup selector is "too far away"

sorry theyre so small. anyone know a good hosting site that wont shrink them this much? BTW the cream tip is the pickup selector

#2 and #3 will put you at more risk of switching pickups inadvertently while flailing. Wink

I voted they all suck...only because I don't like knobs or swithes close to strings...MHO

I hate those dilemmas! If any of them look even right, I'd have to the first. The others just look out of place altogether.

I kinda agree with BlueBark but I don't want to harsh and say they all suck 'cause its a matter of preference. I prefer the switch away from my strumming from inevert hitting the switch.

Matter of fact I'm looking into Fender's "no-load" pots where it has a click notch to lock the knob in place from invert hitting the volume or tone pot.

I like ersque idea where the LPS' switch is away from strumming.

If it was me, I'd go with 1 or 3 because I'm a Strat player, and I love having the vol pot within reach of my pinkie.

Agree with eryque. The Gibson layout looks better. I don't like any. Confused

I really think the most important issue is how you play and what you prefer. On my strat I only have the middle knob live as master volume. It is the perfect place for "pinky swells" for me. Everyone who grabs that guitar hates it. I love my PRS, except for the 5 position selector knob. It is so nonintuitive to me. I once tried to by a PRS retofit switch on EBAY but the seller stiffed me.

Volume pot closest to your picking hand. Its the most useful control IMO. Next put your switch. Then tone control. That's the order of how I use them.
