This body is grainfilled and sealed, ready for color coat. I don't think clear is an option because I accidentally used StewMac Medium Brown grainfiller which turned out to be dark brown, and therefore some of the grain was stained dark, and it was impossible to remove them. I was thinking of doing a Dragonburst, which is yellow with green edge, you can see it on Warmoth. Wanted to call this one "Dragon Force" once I got done, will put a maple neck and white pickguard on it.

Other options includes 3 tone sunburst, 1954 burst, or cherryburst... what do you think?

Can Geocha make custom decals?? I was wondering if someone could make me the logo of Dragon Force in gold (the same gold used for vintage Fender logo)??

I can't see anything wrong with that grain at all? It will look great with a translucent finish! Cool

To correctly pull off that dragon burst look, I think the grain needs to be quilted so it actually looks like dragon scales. I'm not sure the straight grain you have would look that great in the dragon finish, so...I voted for the cherry burst.

I'm with Houndog though - I don't see a thing wrong with the color of the grain you've got going now.

Keep us posted!

I know I'm going to ruffle some feathers,

My opinion of cherry sunburst should be reserved for Les Paul, or LP Bodies or Tele /w binding w/ highly figured maple tops.

For me, they just don't look right on other guitars, even PRS. Its my opinion and I don't mean to debate on this topic. Everyone is entitle to their own opinion.

=> 3-color sunburst.

I saw a Warmoth showcase body with Dragon Burst and I'd thought I'd do something different and pay my tribute to Dragon Force... I can't afford quilted body... I don't know, strats with 3 tone sunburst are a dime a dozen...

That is a nice accident, tradional burst a must. Sure a dima dozen but looks like you may have done enough to set it apart. Since the grain is accented, should allow a darker base color for the burst than normal to further make it unique without hiding that grain.

that's why i voted dragon burst...i mean, who knows how it'll turn out, not being a quilted top, but that's also why i voted that way, to see something new. i say do it, good chance to experiment with something cool.
