Bill's colors are pretty consistent.

For a small drop fill, any variation in color will be minimal, and if it's done correctly will be near invisible.

Wipe off the blue dye with thinner. Ditch the Prevals.

Pick up a couple of cans of Reranch Blue dye mix. Use the white fan tip.

Quite frankly, the finish on that guitar is part of its history. If the body and neck are structurally sound, I'd leave it as is.

I used to have a Yamaha 4 track cassette with the outboard mixer and patch bay. I still miss that thing. For some reason, I can't work with digital. Laughing

Thanks for the suggestions. Still dont know how much of the original finish was removed and thus how far the old refin goes into the wood. I will keep at it with the 400 and also do the test for lacqu ...
