I have also found the Behlen vinyl sealer is a good go between. I have used it over waterbase products and the nitro went on fine. No wrinkles, bubbles, weird stuff.

He said it was from the glue. It looks like the glue pulled some color out of the rosewood and bled it into the top wood. It has a rosy tone.

I'll try a bit of TSP then.

It is bare wood. I am afraid that bleach might cause problems with the wood or binding.

When you are wet sanding it shouldn't be all that wet. The places you need to really worry about are around the holes and neck pocket.
